Behind the Scenes at Fall River: The New Maytag® Multi-Load Washer

On September 13th, several Massachusetts government officials, members of the media, and Whirlpool Corporation Commercial Laundry leadership took a behind the scenes tour of our Fall River manufacturing facility. What they got was an exclusive look at how the company is bringing its new platform – The Maytag® Multi-Load Washer – to market.

An historical moment, the tour represents the culmination of a multi-year project to support customer demand for commercial laundry equipment built by Whirlpool Corporation. Guests were given an immersive tour of the 300,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility and its latest advancement – an assembly line solely dedicated to the Maytag® Commercial Laundry rigid- and soft-mount multi-load washers.

Hercules Corporation, a member of the commercial laundry industry for almost 60 years and among the first to place orders for the new Maytag® Multi-Load Washer, was present for the tour.

Nick Koukourakis, Senior Product Development Manager spoke about the impact the new platform would have on the industry – “The demands of the industry along with customers’ needs are continually evolving, thus bringing new opportunities for equipment and manufacturers. Owners and operators are in need for greater flexibility and the ability to better manage costs and profitability while providing a better end-user experience. The new Maytag® Multi-Load Washer is built to provide the performance and durability vended and on-premises laundry owners and operators need to power through rigorous demands of commercial laundry.”
